Men’s Sheds

A new practical project for men in Erewash

“A mens shed offers a larger version of the typical mans shed in the garden to a group of men where members share tools and resources to work on projects of their choosing at their own pace and in a safe, friendly and inclusive venue.”

When? Every Monday (Except bank holidays) 10.30am – 12.30pm

Where? Derventio Housing, Ilkeston office, the orchard works, 1 Grenville road, Ilkeston, DE7 8HT

It is £2 per session. No booking is necessary – just go along!

Tea Dance

“Come Along and Be Part of our Wednesday Afternoon Social Club”

When? Every 2nd Wednesday of the month, 1.30pm – 3.30pm

Where? Erewash Voluntary Action, Granville Avenue, Long Eaton, NG10 4HD (fully accessible building)

It is £3 for each tea dance – this includes tea/coffee and cakes/biscuits

For those who wish, optional dancing to music from the golden era of tea dances will be available!

Well-being days

Treetops Hospice Care offer well-being days for people living with a life-limiting illness.

The well-being day offers support to help you deal with concerns that may arise as a result of your condition and aims to enhance your capacity to care for yourself.

Workshops and sessions may include:

  • Self-management skills & coping strategies
  • Breathlessness
  • Fatigue management
  • Building resilience
  • Relaxation techniques
  • Stress & anxiety management
  • Sleeping well – techniques to improve sleep
  • Exercise – gentle chair based exercise, walking
  • Relationships & communication
  • Future planning
  • Mindfulness
  • Complementary Therapy
  • Creative activities – art, music, singing
  • Gardening (horticultural therapy)

The well-being days are every Monday 10am-3pm and are free of charge.
