Asthma, COPD, Diabeties, Hypertension, Ischemic heart disease, Epilepsy and CKD are all conditions which require patients to be regularly monitored. As a practice our aim is to improve the control of these conditions by offering routine chronic disease check ups which are performed by our practice nurses or doctors.
Routine antenatal check-ups by our qualified midwife. These are carried out on a Tuesday between 13:00 – 16:00 by appointment.
These are usually done by the practice nurse by appointment in normal surgery hours. Before your smear is due you will sent a letter from the Health Authority advising you to make an appointment. On the bottom of this letter you will find the date your smear is due.
You will be required to fill in a travel form for each person travelling, once we have this it will be passed to the practice nurse and we will call you to make the appointment. It is advisable to complete your form at least six weeks before your date of travel. More details and the relevant forms can be found on the above tab “Travel Vaccinations”.
Please note that the practice does not administer Yellow Fever Immunisations. Malaria advice can be sought from our practice nurses. Medication will be issued on a private prescription and charges will apply.
The Fluenz nasal flu vaccine is now available for children between the ages of 2 and 4 and all children in at risk groups from the age of 2 to 17. Please ring the surgery to see if your children are eligible for this.
